A trip to remember! by Rachel Hammoud
A year ago, I traveled to Turkey with my sisters and my grandmother and we stayed there for one week. We visited a lot of beautiful places, as The Blue Mosque in Sultan Ahmet, Aya Sofia, The Sea Life Aquarium, Estiklal Street in Taksim square, Topkapi Palace, Yildiz Palace, The Bosphorus Bridge in Ortakoy, Jawahir mall, and The Princesses Island. But the most amazing monument was Dolmabahche Palace. It is located in Istanbul and its owner is the Turkish State. On the third day of our trip, we went to Dolmabahche. The weather was very nice.
Dolmabahche is a breathtaking place! The Palace was surrounded by extensive gardens with lots of beautiful flowers and trees. At the entrance of the palace, there was a giant chandelier that was made from precious crystal. All the palace rooms were decorated with candles and expensive furniture, and there was a lot of paintings on the walls. We continued our tour in the palace and we arrived in an enormous and wonderful room: It was the ceremonies room! The columns were all made from solid gold and marble, the sofas were made from red velvet, the curtains were made from silk, the magnificent ceiling was made from precious stones and it was decorated with lots of amazing drawings! The whole room was shining like the stars in the sky! All the tourists were speechless! The Palace was like a majestic paradise! I will let you discover the rest by yourself through the pictures:
Captain Fantastic by Tala Charif
Last month, I watched a movie called ‘Captain Fantastic’.
The movie is about a married couple with six kids that live in a forest of the Pacific Northwest of America. Ben, the father, hates the city and the modern lifestyle, so he decided with his wife to raise his children in the wilderness, isolated from the city.
They were living happily, until a tragedy happened, Ben’s wife, Leslie, got very ill and passed away.
Leslie’s parents want to have their daughter’s funeral in a church in the city, even though she was atheist. The angered widowed husband wants to stop the funeral and wants to celebrate Leslie’s life the way that she wanted, by burning her body and throwing her ashes down the toilet.
The family leave their little paradise to fight for the mothers will. They now discover the city and its residents.
The movie leaves you in question: Is Ben the best father for isolating them from the new changing world, or the worse?
What do you think?

A day on the boat by Karen Yassin
During our vacation this summer, we decided to travel to Cyprus for a week to relax and refresh our mind.
In the first 2 days, my father invited us to enjoy a full day on a boat which was located in Aya Napa harbor. After taking our breakfast, we left our hotel at 9 o’clock in the morning to the harbor. It took us around 20 minutes arriving at the destination. There, the staff of the Yellow Submarine (the name of the boat) was waiting for us. They assisted us to sit in our place where it was booked before. After a while the captain came and introduced himself and his staff, then he explained all details for this trip. After that, the captain announces the start of the trip by launching the horn of the boat. After starting the trip for 15 minutes, the staff invited us to see the fish on the lower deck which was made from secure glass windows. We enjoyed the show made by the staff where they fed the fish with bread. After this show, we enjoyed the visit to a cave where we swam to go inside the cave, led by the captain where he explained all its amazing details including a part he called Jacuzzi square where the wave came from all corner and created a natural Jacuzzi. They served us after the swimming period a lunch and got us back to the harbor.
I really appreciated and enjoyed the hospitality and all the effort done by the cruise staff and its captain and I personally recommend to all my friends to do this amazing trip.
Scuba Diving by Ghiwa El Kaissi
My family went to Dalaman where my father, my brother and I tried scuba diving. We went to the depths of the sea. They taught us the moves to do to communicate under water for example the thumbs up means one person needs to go up. We wore clothes specialized to diving. They showed us a lot of sea animals like a colorful fish and an animal like the hedgehog. It was a very exciting activity and I recommend everyone to try it someday.
