The Academy Awards by Tala Chreif

The Academy Awards or Oscars is a awards ceremony honoring the movie world. Many people from different categories are nominated. Being a nominee is very important, but winning the Oscar is great. With a lot of categories, the 3 most interesting categories are Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Movie.
This year, the Oscars will take place on the 26th of February at 5:30 PST. The host will be Jimmy Kimmel. He's a comedian. But also, last years winners will present the awards to this years winners. Many channels will broadcast the show so save the date!

Une crise au Liban : Les refugiées Syriens en grand nombre

Les habitants de la Syrie, le pays voisin du Liban, vivent une terreur atroce tous les jours. Cette peur est à l’issue de la guerre civile figurant dans leur pays qui a éclatée en 2011.

         Cette guerre dure maintenant pour plus de cinq ans et elle est toujours présente aujourd’hui, en fin de l’année 2016. Le pays a été férocement détruit ; les résidents cherchent un nouveau lieu d’habitation, plus calme que le leur.

         N’ayant pas cherché loin, les Syriens cherchant refuge ce déplacent vers leur voisinage : le Liban. Ce pays d’une surface de 10 452 mètre au carré a une population d’environ 4 millions de locaux. Avec les refugiées, qui sont aujourd’hui au nombre d’environ 2 millions, le Liban connait ainsi une crise de surpopulation.

 

         Le Liban, pas prêt pour ce recueil de gens soudains, ne laisse pas de place pour les refugiées dans le pays. La majorité des Syriens sont pousses à vivre dans les rues, sans travaille, sans abris et pauvre. Personne n’est exclus de ce sort, même les femmes et les enfants sont obliger à mendier dans les rues pour assurer quelque sous.

         De plus, les refugiées sont en train de devenir de plus en plus nombreux, même plus que le nombre de libanais dans certaine régions ; comme à déclare le coordinateur spécial pour le Liban, Derek Plumbly : ‘A Chebaa, le nombre des refugies n’est plus loin du nombre de la moyenne des habitants de cette ville.’

         On peut juste demander la question : quels sera le destin pour ces refugies, la Syrie, et le Liban ? Plusieurs organisations existe pour aider cette cause, comme : Save The Children, Unicef, Shelter Box, Oxfam, Mercy Corps, Hand In Hand For Syria, et plein d’autre encore.

EPI histoire- affiche de propagande- Tala CHARIF et Yasmina NAJA

Cette affiche est une affiche de propagande politique. Le commandant est l’Etat soviétique, dirigé par Staline.

 

         Cette affiche a été réalisée par Sirocenqo en 1938 ; c’est-à-dire pendant la grande terreur, où Staline fait assassiner des centaines de milliers de personnes sur tout le territoire.

 

         Staline est représenté au milieu de l’affiche, souriant, regardant vers l’horizon. À sa droite se tiennent des soldats et le peuple à sa gauche ; les deux parties de la population, civil et font une militaire, encourage Staline. Devant lui des jeunes font une parade au nom de ce commandant. Derrière lui, on voit des avions de guerre et des chars d’assauts. Cela montre l’Etat de guerre du pays.

 

Le communisme soviétique est présent, cela est traduit par les drapeaux rouges de l’URSS portés par les civils.

 

Cette affiche de propagande politique a été réalisée pour montrer que tout le peuple est avec le grand Staline, qui exerce son pouvoir pour le bien du pays.

 

Cette affiche montre que toute la population suit Staline. En revanche, dans la réalité de 1938, il y a eu un grand massacre et de la famine, c’était la grande terreur, qui a été organisé par Staline lui-même pour assurer son pouvoir absolu.

Last summer, I traveled with my family to Istanbul  for a week. We spent beautiful  moments visiting touristic attractions like Topkapi Palace. It’s an amazing and huge palace. There are different buildings and many rooms where the king and queen lived with other royal family members. We also visited many mosques and churches like Hagia Sofya. Hagia Sofya was a Greek Orthodox church later an imperial mosque and now a museum. Istanbul is a beautiful city rich in history and culture. It was an amazing trip and a great experience.
